I experienced a “journey of three realtors”, encompassing a 16 month-long painstaking effort to sell my 101 year old, Old-Spanish home in Coral Gables. I had contracts with three different realtors, all three different in approach, attitude, and work-ethic. I learned so much during this venture. Scott Shuffield, of Berkshire Hathaway was by far and away, the best, most capable, polite, attentive, highly detailed, observant, and knew just how to sell my home. Hence, he sold it within just ten days of listing it, - with TWO buyers making offers on my property right off-the-bat. Incidentally, Scott RAISED the price of my home from where the previous realtor had lowered the price. For our first meeting, Scott arrived at my home on time, professionally attired, brochures and ‘research’ on my home in-hand and fully prepared. He provided me a list of questions about my home. We did an extensive walk-through together while he took copious notes, asked pertinent questions, and videoed certain things along the way. He questioned the size of my double-lot versus the “recorded” lot-size on the Dade-County listing, - and he offered to re-survey the house at his own expense. (Who does that?)! He proved himself correct: my home did indeed sit on a lot nearly 2000 sq. ft bigger than what was listed. The last two realtors didn’t catch this. Scott then proffered his suggestions and recommendations to me which were reasonable and well-thought out: Paint the entire house with a more modern color, paint just a few rooms on the interior that needed a ‘refresh’, and repair a few broken outdoor landscape lights. The landscaping around my home is plush and gorgeous throughout and includes a 30’ koi pond and 40’ lap-pool, - ALL of which lights up beautifully at night; (the previous two realtors didn’t even think to pursue this). Scott also suggested that I convert my muddy/barely thriving grass swale into one with granite rock instead. The home looked stunning after these changes were made which only added value to the home, - rather than wasting money with “rental furniture” to temporarily stage the place. My humble opinion is that virtual staging is here to stay and does the trick quite well. Scott’s virtual photo-display of the listing allowed viewers to see the rooms in the house both ‘vacant’ or fully furnished. Scott’s selections of “virtual furniture and decoration” were head-and-shoulders superior to the previous two realtors. Other realtors I had interviewed wanted to stage my home starting at $30K….which, if unsold, would leave me with a lighter-wallet! Scott’s entire team are tight, communicative, polite, ambitious, and well-trained in their jobs. His entire staff inter-communicates effectively, which is critically important when it comes down to showing a large home that’s anything but a “cookie-cutter” type property. They were superb in EVERY measure. I would especially thank Lilian and Tanner, who were involved in my sale. I dealt in customer service most of my life. As a practicing dentist for over forty years, I know what it takes to make the ‘client experience’ evolve from something merely “acceptable” to something truly SPECTACULAR! Look no further for an INCREDIBLE, TOP IN HIS FIELD, realtor. Scott Shuffield is a perfect gentleman, humble and without any hint of arrogant swagger that my previous realtor possessed. Scott Shuffield and his team blew me away with their competence, knowledge, and demeanor. He’s a super-star realtor who checks ALL the boxes. I urge you to hire this incredible company. Scott and Tanner put in a great effort and spent all the time needed to secure the "deals" for our needs, both as buyers and sellers. They remained available at all times to get these property deals done. Great service and great personal efforts!
